"And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven."

The small Jerusalem Church of about 120 believers did exactly that, they waited upon God in prayer, and tarried in His presence, and ten days later the fire of Pentecost fell, the Church grew, and the city was never the same again.

The idea of “tarrying” on God is shown in Luke 24:49 and Acts 1:4. This practice of “revival prayer” has also been seen in many of the Revival movements of the past where men, women and children would gather together, united by their hunger for God to move in sovereign power across their communities.

At the High Kirk, we host our Revival Fellowship on Friday nights (September - June) where men, women & children can join together as we plead with God in prayer for times of refreshing and renewal.
